Step by step
Check the GPU and current release
Confirm the device meets the official GPU requirements and read the release notes for the DroidDeck build you installed.
Locate the failure
Record whether Steam itself is black or only a launched game is black. Note any audio and controller response.
Try Linear scaling if available
If an upscaler is enabled and session settings are accessible, try Linear scaling to check whether the display path is involved.
Collect a useful report
Use Share logs and include the exact device, driver, scaling mode, DroidDeck version, and the point at which the screen becomes black.
Symptom: a running session has no picture
Record whether you can hear audio, whether controls respond, and whether Steam ever appears. A black screen before Steam opens and a black screen after launching one game are different reports.
Cause: hardware or the display path
Check the official GPU requirements first. The project's developer notes document a Steam black-screen case involving FSR 1 and SGSR scaling on an Adreno 740 device. Switching that session to Linear restored the picture, and the document describes a code fix.
That development case does not establish that every black screen has the same cause or that a particular public release contains the fix. Consult the release notes for the build you use.
Fix: make one change and record the result
If scaling is enabled and you can access the session settings, try Linear as a diagnostic step. Keep the device, driver, game, and other settings the same so the result is useful.
If only one game is affected, include its graphics API and any game-specific settings in the report. Share the newest session logs with project support if the picture does not return.
