Separate the runtime from your games
The README's storage figures describe runtime components, not an installed game library. The APK asset size shown on the download page is also different from the space occupied after setup.
| Component | Space |
|---|---|
| Linux runtime | about 3 GB |
| Desktop & apps / emulators | about 1.1 GB more |
| Steam client and game library | Additional; depends on installed content |
| Download and update working space | Additional; depends on the operation |
Reuse one Steam library
Where a writable games folder is available across installs, point Steam to the same existing library instead of keeping duplicate copies of game files. Confirm that Steam recognizes the library before removing any other copy.
Keep a backup of saves and important files. A folder inside an Android app's private or app-managed storage should not be assumed to survive uninstalling that app.
Internal storage and SD cards
DroidDeck's game-storage source supports writable library folders and removable storage where available. The code comments identify internal storage as the default and note that Android's FUSE-backed external paths can stream slowly.
An SD card changes where files are stored; it does not change the GPU requirement or establish that a particular game will run.
