Download safety

Is DroidDeck safe? Start with the source

DroidDeck is a free, open-source project licensed under GPL-3.0. Get its APK from the Droid-Deck/DroidDeck repository's Releases page.

Open source is useful context

The official repository makes the project's code and licence available to read. That transparency is useful when deciding what to install, but it is not a guarantee that every build or third-party copy is risk-free.

No root is required. Before installing, read the release notes and confirm that your Android version and GPU meet the project's requirements.

Use the project's own release page

Check that the address is github.com/Droid-Deck/DroidDeck/releases. Choose the APK listed in the release's Assets section. Download buttons throughout this guide lead to that page; this site does not store an APK.

  • Check the GitHub owner: Droid-Deck.
  • Check the repository name: DroidDeck.
  • Read the release notes before installing or updating.
  • Avoid repackaged APKs, paid downloads, and pages claiming to be the DroidDeck team.

Recognize misleading download pages

The official README says that the project has no stand-alone website. A domain name, familiar logo, or prominent download button does not establish a site's connection to the developers.

A page that requests a payment, asks for Steam credentials in a web form, or sends you through unrelated installers deserves caution. Sign in to Steam inside the Steam client, after completing DroidDeck setup.
